What is Dental Hygiene?
Keeping on top of your dental hygiene is essential in the prevention of periodontal disease. We will look at your gums for signs of inflammation, assess your overall mouth health, and discuss any necessary treatments.
Our Dental Hygiene routine
This is our recommended Dental Hygiene routine, however, following your assessment with us, our hygienist will provide you with a personalised, at-home plan to best care for your mouth.
- Brush twice daily; first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. You should clean your teeth, gums, and tongue. An electric or sonic toothbrush will help you achieve a more effective clean.
- Do not rinse with water or mouthwash after brushing. This will wash away the fluoride that helps to repair damage caused from acid and treats sensitivity.
- Clean in between your teeth with floss or interdental brushes to reach those areas your toothbrush can’t. Tooth decay and gum disease most often start in these areas.

Absolutely amazing. Dr Shivani, the team at reception and all of the nurses are brilliant! From the moment I called to make an appointment to actually being seen everything was done so professionally. And just to clarify I was not asked to write this review, unlike some dental practices which ask people to leave reviews, I had to ask the lady at reception for where I could leave a review, they’re genuinely brilliant and I would highly recommend them. Dr Shivani put me at great ease, answered all of my questions and was very calming and supportive. Can’t recommend this practice enough, I travelled from Essex to visit them!
